When I was uploading my profile picture I began to wonder is there a point while editing a digital photo where it is no longer a photograph but has become a piece of digital art? Can you still call something a photograph even though you have manipulated it in photoshop or other Art programs to the point were there is barely any evidence of the original photo/moment you captured? I have a few pieces of digital art that started out as a photograph that I will try to upload soon. I edited one photograph on photoshop and another using a program called Art Rage. I find both pieces to be more visually pleasing than the original photographs and would love to still think that they do fall under the category of photography. Which also brings me to my next question, Good photograph? Or Good/Creative Editing? Well, I guess I have just discovered my research for the week and if you have any thoughts on the topic please feel free to comment.
I am currently studying Education at Victoria University. My subject majors include Visual Art and Drama. I am still not sure if I want to teach primary or secondary, I guess I don't really mind as long as I am teaching Art.
Hi how are you?
ReplyDeleteI was looking through your blog, and I found it interesting, and inspiring to me, so I thought why not leave you a comment.
I have a blog also obviously and would like to invite you to become my blog friend.
I mostly post about the Southern California experience through the perspective of my art.
Maybe you can become my pal, and follow, and I can also follow you, if that is okay.
Well I hope to hear from you soon... :)
